A Double Victory: NGEC Earns Two DIAR Awards for Promoting Governance and Equity

Nairobi, Kenya – The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) has been honoured with two prestigious awards at the 2025 Diversity and Inclusion Awards and Recognition (DIAR) ceremony, cementing its reputation as a leader in championing good governance and equitable resource distribution in Kenya.

The awards, presented on March 7 at Loita Hall, Sarit Expo Centre, recognised NGEC as the Best Constitutional Commission in Good Governance and for Equitable Allocation of Opportunities and Resources. This landmark achievement underscores the Commission’s relentless efforts to uphold inclusivity and advance the rights of special interest groups, including women, youth, persons with disabilities (PWDs), children, older persons, minorities, and marginalised communities.

Buoyed by these recognitions, NGEC has reiterated its commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks that promote gender equality and social inclusion. Moving forward, the Commission aims to intensify advocacy efforts, enhance datadriven policy recommendations, and engage with stakeholders to build a more just and inclusive society.

As Kenya continues to strive towards a future where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities, NGEC’s accolades serve as both a milestone and a motivation to further its mandate. With a proven track record and a vision for a fairer society, the Commission remains steadfast in its mission to champion the rights and dignity of all Kenyans.
