NGEC and COG sign MoU
The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) Chairperson Ms. Winfred Lichuma has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the council of governors represented by the Chair, H.E. Hon. Peter Munya and H.E. Prof. Kivitha Kibwana, during the second annual conference on the administration of justice within the context of devolution, 2016 being held in Naivasha.
The conference brought together key players in the justice chain to discuss and agree upon a framework for engagement towards the administration of justice by the various actors together with county governments.
In attendance were the Chief Justice Hon. Dr. Willy Mutunga, Inspector general Joseph Boinett, the Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai, Chairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice Dr. Otiende Amollo, Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Philip Kinisu among other key actors in the justice sector.
The MOU provides an opportunity for the NGEC and County Governments to collaborate in development of laws, policies on inclusion and equality of special interest groups
