NGEC and Public Service Ministry to enhance collaboration

The Commission and the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender affairs have committed to collaborate as both seek to ensure equality, inclusion and nondiscrimination of all persons. The pledge came after a successful meeting between the Commission led by Dr. Joyce Mutinda and the Cabinet secretary Prof. Margaret Kobia at the Ministry headquarters in Harambee House.

Discussions centered on the need for the ministry and the Commission to have a collaborative approach in the discharge of their mandates. Among the issues discussed and agreed upon, is the fast-tracking of the national gender policy and the national youth policy. The Ministry and the Commission also agreed to reignite the debate on practical strategies for the realization of a framework for the implementation of the not more than two-thirds gender principle.
