Kisumu Office

The Kisumu based NGEC Western region office was started in 2012 as part of the efforts by the commission to decentralize and devolve its programming and research functions. The office exists to;

• Coordinate Commission’s programmes and activities in Nyanza/Western region with focus to the special interest groups including children, youth, women, persons with disability, elderly, minority and marginalized groups.

• Promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination within the region with special focus on advancing the elimination of inequalities and discrimination among youth and children

Provide advisory opinion on gender equality and freedom from discrimination in county policies, laws and administrative regulations aimed at improving full engagement of vulnerable populations in the development agenda, representation, leadership and decision making.
