The GTWG provides a forum for consultation, information sharing, and coordination of gender-related programs, playing a key role in addressing gender-based violence (GBV), promoting women's empowerment, protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, and supporting the mainstreaming of gender considerations in county policies, plans, and development programs.

How to Join

Organizations and institutions working in gender equality, women's empowerment, child protection, disability inclusion, or social development can join by:

  • Expressing interest through the County Department of Gender or NGEC Garissa Regional Office
  • Demonstrating active involvement in gender or social inclusion programs
  • Participating in regular coordination meetings and joint activities organized by the working group
Court Users Committee (CUC)

A multi-stakeholder coordination platform that brings together representatives from the Judiciary, National Police Service, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Kenya Prisons Service, probation and children services departments, legal practitioners, civil society organizations, and other justice sector actors. The CUC aims to improve coordination and efficiency within the justice system, providing a forum to discuss challenges affecting the administration of justice and to develop practical solutions that improve access to justice, case management, and protection of vulnerable groups.

County Steering Group (CSG)

A multi-stakeholder coordination forum that brings together representatives from national government departments, county government, humanitarian agencies, development partners, non-governmental organizations, and community representatives to coordinate development and humanitarian interventions at the county level. The CSG focuses on drought response, food security, social protection, gender equality, protection of vulnerable populations, and disaster risk management, facilitating information sharing, joint planning, and coordination of programmes addressing humanitarian needs and sustainable development.
