ABOUT NGEC

Vision & Mission

The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) is mandated to promote and ensure gender equality, principles of equality and non-discrimination for all persons in Kenya as provided for in the Constitution of Kenya 2010 with a focus on the following Special Interest Groups (SIGs): women, persons with disability, children, youth, and older members of society, minority and marginalised groups.

Our vision reflects our commitment to building a Kenya where every person, regardless of their background, enjoys equal rights and opportunities without any form of discrimination.

Mission Statement

To promote and protect gender equality and freedom from all forms of discrimination in Kenya, especially for Special Interest Groups through ensuring compliance with policies, laws and practice.

We are dedicated to creating an equitable society by safeguarding the rights of Special Interest Groups and ensuring compliance with constitutional provisions and relevant legislation.
