About This Office
The Kisumu Regional Office of NGEC serves 12 counties across the Nyanza and Western regions of Kenya. The office promotes gender equality and social inclusion, receives and processes complaints, conducts public education programmes, and collaborates with a wide range of partners across the Lake Region and beyond.

Working groups and partner organisations active in the region
Kisumu County Gender Technical Working Group (GTWG)
A multi-stakeholder coordination platform that brings together representatives from county government, national government agencies, civil society organizations, development partners, and community-based organizations to promote gender equality and social inclusion in Kisumu County. The GTWG coordinates gender programming, addresses gender-based violence, and supports the mainstreaming of gender considerations into county policies and development plans.

Haki Ni Yetu Project
An EU-funded, 4-year initiative implemented by the CSO Network, empowering grassroots groups and community-based organizations through resource provision and skill enhancement to promote accountability and human rights across the region.
Inclusive Resilience and Climate Justice Action (IRCJA)
Implemented by the Action Network for the Disabled (ANDY), this project addresses Non-Economic Losses and Damages (NELD) caused by climate change, emphasising equitable participation for persons with disabilities to ensure their voices are central to climate justice interventions.
Wise Hub
Promoting gender equality and diversity among fishing communities in the Lake Region, supporting women and marginalised groups to participate fully and equitably in the blue economy.
Women Volunteers for Peace (WOVOP)
Promoting young women's participation and inclusion in peace and security processes, ensuring women's voices are heard in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and community resilience in the region.
Social Justice Working Group
A grassroots social justice group challenging systemic inequalities in Kenya, advocating for the rights of marginalised communities and holding institutions accountable to principles of equity, inclusion, and human dignity.
