About This Office
The Kitui Regional Office of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) is dedicated to advancing gender equality and promoting freedom from discrimination across the region. The office places special focus on empowering and protecting Special Interest Groups (SIGs), including women, children, persons with disabilities, youth, older members of society, minorities, and marginalised communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in development and governance processes.
The office enhances NGEC's visibility at the county level through stakeholder engagement and public awareness initiatives; promotes equality and inclusion of SIGs in county plans, policies, and programmes; develops and evaluates strategies for effective gender mainstreaming; receives, processes, and records complaints related to discrimination and inequality; and collects and maintains data on the status of inclusion to inform planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
