The Commission’s Kisumu Regional Office joined county leaders, national government representatives, civil society, faith leaders and members of the public at the Kisumu County Leadership Prayer Breakfast at CITAM Kisumu.
Held under the theme “Entrenching Faith, Integrity and Servant Leadership Towards a Peaceful, United and Prosperous County,” the forum reflected on the relationship between values-based leadership, social cohesion and good governance.
Participants also raised concerns about political violence, including attacks within places of worship, and its implications for the participation of Special Interest Groups.
The discussions called for political tolerance, peaceful engagement, respect for democratic principles and collective action to address challenges including youth unemployment and political intolerance.
