The Commission has begun inter-agency engagement aimed at strengthening inclusive and peaceful participation in the 2027 General Election.
The first engagement in Nakuru brought together the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, National Cohesion and Integration Commission and Media Council of Kenya.
The institutions explored areas for closer collaboration in civic education, access to reliable information, peaceful political participation, national cohesion and protection against discrimination and exclusion.
The discussions also recognised the risks posed by misinformation, gender bias and online harassment, alongside the under-representation of women, youth and persons with disabilities in election narratives.
For the Commission, electoral preparedness must ultimately be measured by whether every Kenyan can participate freely, safely and meaningfully. The Nakuru engagement provides a foundation for continued institutional dialogue and joint initiatives ahead of the 2027 General Election.
