The Nakuru Regional Office of the National Gender and Equality Commission joined the Nakuru Gender Sector Working Group in a consultative meeting with Hon. Tito M. Gesora at the Nakuru Law Courts, addressing systemic barriers affecting access to justice for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and other Special Interest Groups.

The engagement provided a platform for stakeholders to examine key challenges reported by communities, including delays in the conclusion of GBV cases, low conviction rates, and difficulties in enforcing bond and bail conditions for suspects.

These systemic gaps, participants noted, often exacerbate the trauma experienced by survivors and undermine public confidence in justice processes.

Enhanced capacity-building for gender sector personnel was highlighted as critical to improving survivor support and delivering more responsive justice outcomes.

The consultative session also explored strategies to strengthen referral pathways, integrate community-based monitoring, and facilitate collaboration between institutions and civil society organizations, with the goal of ensuring that vulnerable populations are not left behind in accessing justice
