The Vice Chairperson of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), Thomas Koyier EBS, has called for the sharing of electoral observation tools among institutions at a round table in Moscow.
Koyier is in Moscow, Russia, for a Round Table on Electoral Observation Practices at the Human Rights House.
He set out the Commission’s experience of observing elections through an equality and inclusion lens, under which observation examines accessibility, assisted voting, priority for older persons, pregnant and lactating mothers and persons with disabilities, and the participation of other vulnerable groups.
OBSERVATION TOOLS
Koyier called for stronger collaboration among institutions and for the sharing of electoral observation tools, which he said would advance inclusive and meaningful participation in electoral processes.
