1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) Kenya (www.ngeckenya.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and all applicable laws of Kenya. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of this website immediately.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and the National Gender and Equality Commission ("NGEC", "we", "us" or "our"). 2. About NGEC
NGEC is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59(2)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and operationalised by the National Gender and Equality Commission Act, No. 15 of 2011. Our mandate is to promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination for all persons in Kenya, with particular focus on women, persons with disability, children, youth, older members of society, and minority and marginalised groups.
3. Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, NGEC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use this website for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may:
- Browse, read and download publicly available publications, reports and resources for personal reference or research.
- Share links to pages on this website on social media or in academic or professional communications, provided the source is properly attributed to NGEC.
- Submit complaints, feedback, enquiries and contact forms in accordance with NGEC's stated procedures.
- Subscribe to newsletters and alerts where such functionality is provided.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use this website in any manner that is unlawful, harmful or contrary to the purposes of NGEC. Without limiting the foregoing, you must not:
- Engage in any conduct that constitutes an offence under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, No. 5 of 2018, including unauthorised access, interference with computer systems or data, or cyber harassment.
- Reproduce, distribute, modify, publish or commercially exploit any content from this website without the prior written consent of NGEC.
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information, including false complaints or identity details.
- Upload, transmit or distribute malware, viruses, spyware or any code intended to damage, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any computer system.
- Attempt to scrape, crawl, index or systematically extract data from this website without NGEC's prior written permission.
- Impersonate NGEC, its Commissioners, officers or employees, or misrepresent your affiliation with NGEC.
- Use this website in a manner that violates the Kenya Information and Communications Act (Cap. 411A) or any other applicable law.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio and video clips, data compilations and software — is the property of NGEC or its content suppliers and is protected under the Copyright Act (Cap. 130, Laws of Kenya) and applicable international intellectual property treaties to which Kenya is a party, including the Berne Convention and the TRIPS Agreement.
- NGEC name and logo are registered identifiers of a Constitutional Commission of Kenya. Any unauthorised use is prohibited.
- Government publications are subject to Crown/Government Copyright as applicable under Kenyan law. Reproduction for non-commercial purposes is permitted with full attribution to NGEC.
- Website software and code are proprietary and may not be reverse-engineered, decompiled or disassembled.
Requests to reproduce NGEC content for commercial, academic or media purposes must be directed to info@ngeckenya.org.
6. User Submissions
Any communication, complaint, feedback or other material you submit to NGEC via this website:
- Must be truthful, accurate and not in violation of any law of Kenya.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya, without prejudice to NGEC's right to seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
