MAPUTO PROTOCOL SCORECARD

Kenya is a party to the Africa Union Maputo Protocol (African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa).  Countries that have ratified the protocol are required to send periodic reports every second year to the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights. This Scorecard has been developed to aid Kenya and the other East African States in providing accurate and objective reports on Maputo Protocol. The scorecard provides the reporting country with a framework for collecting data and objectively measuring its performance on specific articles and provisions of the protocol. 

10TH GENERAL ELECTION OBSERVATION REPORT

The monitoring activities covered most components of the 2013 elections i.e; voter education, campaigns, polling and post-polling activities. The exercise was conducted between 23 February and 9 March with scaled-down observations to 30 March 2013. The activity covered 213 constituencies and 560 wards. During the elections polling, observations were limited to 291 polling stations. 

STATUS OF FREE MATERNITY PROGRAM IN KENYA

This report presents findings of an audit conducted between December 2014 and March 2015 on the implementation of the Presidential directive on free maternal health care program to establish the application of the principles of equality and inclusion in the program. The audit was conducted across selected public health facilities 4 counties namely, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kilifi and Busia.

THE TANA DELTA ACCOUNT ON THE PLIGHT OF THE VULNERABLE GROUPS IN THE TANA DELTA CONFLICT

In response to media reports in the month of August 2012 as regards ethnic violence in Tana Delta and its environs between two warring communities, NGEC initiated an inquiry into the violence to establish the origin and impact of the violence, especially to the special interest groups. This report presents the findings of the inquiry.

MINIMUM AGE OF CONSENT FOR SEX : ADDRESSING THE DILEMMA

This report presents discussions and proposals from multi-sectoral stakeholders on the question of whether or not to lower the age of consent for sex  The report proposes critical recommendations to various government agencies, community, private sector and families.
