GUIDELINES FOR MANAGING AND ESTABLISHING EQUALITY AND INCLUSION TECHNICAL WORKING GROUPS

These guidelines have been developed to facilitate establishment of comprehensive and functional EITWG, and to effectively manage such structured groups. The EITWG is the umbrella body that coordinates equality and inclusion matters of the special interest groups.

THE 2019 KENYA POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS OBSERVATION REPORT

The 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Report documents emerging issues, gaps, good practices and recommendations observed during the conduct of the Census. The Commission observed the implementation of the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census to establish the extent to which the Census complied with the principles of inclusion and gender equality as relates to SIGs, evaluated how quality information was being collected and the various techniques and strategies to monitor and observe the census.

COUNTY LEADERSHIP GUIDE SECOND EDITION (2021)

This 2021 revised guide provides a framework through which counties can engender their processes and make them friendly to every member of the community with emphasis on vulnerable populations, it also highlights areas where some counties have excelled and how comparative advantage can be used as a guide to provide better services and for non-discriminatory management of public affairs.

THE JUDICIARY GENDER AUDIT 2019

The Judiciary Gender Audit Report 2019 is the product of an introspective institutional audit of the Judiciary on the principles of gender and inclusion as key constitutional imperatives. The report analyzes the gender sensitivity and responsiveness of the Judiciary as a whole in its internal operations and delivery on its external mandate. It also describes how the Judiciary managed its workforce and how it delivered justice to its constituents. 

STATUS OF YOUTH IN GOVERNANCE : PERCEPTIONS OF YOUTH ON EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY IN REPRESENTATION AND PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE IN KENYA

This report presents perceptions of youth on their involvement and on equality of opportunity in representation and participation in governance. It documents findings of the assessment in five counties namely Taita Taveta, Trans-Nzoia, Tharaka-Nithi, Nyeri and Vihiga. It makes recommendations to the National and County Governments on how to mainstream issues of youth and to ensure their effective participation in governance and development.

A GUIDE FOR COUNTY GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP : INTEGRATION OF GENDER EQUALITY AND INCLUSION

The Guide contains concrete and concise information that can be directly applied to practical tasks such as planning, program implementation, reporting and evaluating development undertakings at county level. In addition, the Guide can be of use to gender advisors and instructors. It is also a crucial monitoring tool to the several Constitutional Commissions, the National Government  officers and to the donors and funders of the county governments.

EQUALIZATION FUND IN KENYA

The Equalization Fund is an affirmative action legal instrument in line with Article 27(6) of the Constitution of Kenya that seeks to address the provision of these services by channelling resources to identified marginalized counties and by extension marginalised funds to bring the quality of those services to the level generally enjoyed by the rest of the nation. The National Gender and Equality.

Commission is mandated to among others work with other relevant institutions in the development of standards for the implementation of policies for the progressive realization of the economic and social rights specified in Article 43 of the Constitution and other written laws.

UNMASKING ETHNIC MINORITIES AND MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES IN KENYA

The report documents historical perspectives to marginalization in Kenya, in particular detailing various legislative and administrative reforms during colonial and post-colonial period that entrenched marginalization. Drawing on countries’ experiences, the report presents international practices on representation and integration of ethnic minorities and Marginalized communities in varying spheres of development.
